As a full-time photographer in a highly-competitive city like Toronto it’s never a bad thing to be busy, but following a particularly-hectic 6-week period of corporate & wedding shoots from late-July to early-September, I opted for a couple of weeks off (well, ‘off’ is relative.. right?) prior to my October commissions.
Rather spontaneously, my girlfriend Sarah & I returned to the beautiful Mayan Riviera in mid-September, staying at the luxurious Grand Sirenis Riviera resort for just under a week. We lucked out with the weather (5 amazing days out of 6 during “hurricane season” was a pleasant surprise!) & I’m looking forward to going through my yet-to-be-touched memory card of sunny vacation photos shortly.
Since I’ve been back, however, I’ve been hosting my parents who are visiting from Vancouver. Though I used to fly back more frequently in previous years, it’s gotten more difficult as my schedule has filled out & I’m glad they took me up on my last-minute invitation to come out east this time around.
On a sunny Wednesday afternoon, we all went for a leisurely stroll & coffee, before ending up at the Art Gallery of Ontario – which miraculously was my first visit to the iconic museum in 9+ years of living in Downtown Toronto. As part of my mission to master my favourite new lens (nerd alert: the Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 2/50 ZE), I brought along just the one prime lens & challenged myself to rely on manual-focus for the entire outing.
Final thoughts: art is incredible & under-appreciated in our society, and my girlfriend is a character.
Inviting Inspiration – A Night at the Art Gallery of Ontario
In any sub-genre of portraiture, my aim is to capture a subject’s distinctive personality & to present that essence beautifully within each finished image. With the kind of confidence that can only come from years of specialized portrait experience, I look forward to helping you realize your vision by making you feel at ease & bringing out the best in you, each & every time you step in front of my lens.
I am available for Baby Portraits, Lifestyle/Beauty Portraits, Engagement Sessions & Wedding Photography in Toronto – thank you for visiting my website!
